What Is Not Covered

  • Products without a manufacturer's warranty: Items not originally covered by a manufacturer's warranty are not eligible for coverage under this plan.
  • Manufacturer warranty or recall repairs: Repairs that should be covered by the original manufacturer's warranty, or that result from a product recall, are not covered regardless of the manufacturer's ability to pay.
  • Preventative maintenance: Periodic checkups or preventative maintenance as directed by the manufacturer are not included except as specifically stated in this agreement.
  • Inherent defects and recall-related part failures: Pre-existing product defects or parts failures resulting from a recall are not covered.
  • Pre-existing conditions and "as-is" products: Any condition that exists prior to the effective date of this agreement is not covered, including products sold as-is, floor models, or demonstration units.
  • Normal wear and tear (standalone): Parts or repairs due to normal wear and tear are not covered unless tied to a mechanical breakdown. Items designed to be periodically replaced, including batteries, cables, handlebars, light bulbs, seat posts, tires, and tubes, are not included.
  • Accidental damage, abuse, or misuse: Damage from accidents, mishandling, negligence, foreign objects, unauthorized modifications, altered or removed serial numbers, failure to follow manufacturer instructions, or external causes including fire, theft, insects, animals, extreme weather, flooding, acts of God, or third-party actions is not covered.
  • War, civil unrest, or labor actions: Loss or damage caused by war, invasion, foreign enemy action, civil war, rebellion, riot, strike, lockout, or civil commotion is not covered.
  • Consequential or incidental damages: This plan does not cover incidental, consequential, or secondary damages, delays in service, or loss of use while the covered product is at a service center or awaiting parts.
  • Commercial or rental use: Equipment used in a commercial setting or on a rental basis is not eligible for coverage.
  • Outside the United States: Failures occurring outside the 50 states of the United States of America, including the District of Columbia, are not covered.
  • Cosmetic and nonfunctional parts: Aesthetic or nonfunctional components are not covered, including plastic parts, shelves, drawers, racks, knobs, rollers, baskets, handles, scratches, cosmetic parts, peeling, and dents. External equipment such as pipes, plumbing, or power sources used in connection with the covered product is also excluded.
  • Unauthorized repairs or parts: Repairs or parts not authorized under this agreement are not covered.
  • Installation and diagnostic costs: The cost of installation, setup, diagnostic charges, or removal and reinstallation of the covered product is not included.
  • Accessories: Accessories used in conjunction with a covered product are not covered under this plan.
  • Non-breakdown losses: Any loss that does not result from a covered breakdown of the product is excluded.
  • Data loss or virus damage: Loss of data, mechanical breakdown, or damage caused by a computer or software virus is not covered.
  • No problem found: Service calls where no defect or problem can be identified are not covered.
  • Unreported breakdowns: Breakdowns not reported within the term of this agreement are not eligible for coverage.
  • Rust or corrosion: Failures resulting from rust or corrosion on any covered product or part are not covered.
  • Electrical misuse or improper connection: Damage from incorrect connection of signal leads, improper electrical supply, or failure or improper use of any electrical source is not covered.
  • Utility supply variations: Damage caused by abnormal variation in electricity or water supply is not covered.
  • Relocation damage: Damage incurred while moving the covered product to another location is not included.
  • Code and regulation changes: Modifications required to meet changes in federal, state, or local codes and regulations are not covered.
  • Improper installation: Failures resulting from improper installation of components or peripherals are not covered.
