Functional Trainers

A functional trainer is a dual pulley cable machine that lets you press, pull, rotate, and resist from any angle in one compact footprint, which makes it a serious strength tool for any home or studio gym. Whether you're building muscle, training for sport, or developing the kind of off-axis strength that carries into real life, a functional trainer puts the work in your hands.

Every Force USA functional trainer is precision-engineered with 11-gauge steel, 3"x3" uprights, and aircraft-grade cables rated to 2,000 lb. Polished aluminum pulleys deliver glass-smooth travel, and each pulley runs at 2:1 for speed and range. Connect both cables to a single load for a true 1:1 ratio when you want maximum resistance. Enclosed weight stacks and captured cables mean you can train hard alone without thinking twice.

Force USA offers two: the Functional Trainer Rack (FTR), a functional trainer built into a half rack with Quick-Lock J-hooks and rated spotter arms for squats, bench, and cables in one footprint; and the Tandem Tower (TT), a pure dual-pulley cable machine with two independent pulleys that make connecting both cables for a true 1:1 ratio simple, plus a path to a full crossover.

Frequently Asked Questions

A functional trainer is a dual-pulley cable machine that lets you press, pull, rotate, and resist from almost any angle. Two adjustable pulleys in one compact footprint replace a wall of single-station machines: chest press and flys, lat pulldowns, rows, cable curls, triceps pushdowns, woodchops, face pulls, and the off-axis core and rotational work that transfers straight to sport and real life. Because the cables guide the load on a fixed path, you can train hard on your own with far less risk than loading a heavy barbell solo.
